A collaborative effort between Maryville College and the surrounding communities, the Clayton Center for the Arts serves as a premier venue for regional fine and performing arts while attracting top national touring performances and exhibitions.

The center’s focal point is a 1,200-seat proscenium theatre, designed for outstanding acoustics and state-of-the-art technical support for theatrical and musical performances. A second building houses additional classrooms, art studios, gallery spaces, and a 250-seat recital hall for more intimate performances. The recital hall also features a restored Holtkamp pipe organ, salvaged from the site’s original arts center.

Beyond performances, the center fosters arts education, cultural engagement, and community programming, enriching both the college and the region.
