Project coordinator


FUNCTION

Assists the PA and/or PM in the preparation of design and construction documents on assigned projects. Coordinates the production team and consultants to develop design and produce cohesive documents. Involved in programming, schematic design and C.A. as determined by Project Manager and size of project.

 OBJECTIVES

-Responsible for meeting established deadlines and coordinating project deliverables among internal design teams and external consultants alike.
Manages files and correspondences so that the whole project team can easily navigate the volume of information collected over the course of a project.
-Reviews progress and communicates frequently with entire Design Team to ensure development of design, consistent quality of project deliverables, standards implementation, and clear representation of project scope.
-Promotes the exploration of potential alternative engineering systems and materials that may provide better value and environmental responsibility.
-Researches and coordinates technical aspects of the project through all phases with particular responsibility during the design development and construction document phases.
-Identifies and investigates potential scope gaps and unresolved issues during the design phases.
-Ensures that the project execution meets all the requirements of the client and approving agencies and the quality standards of MHM.
-Ensures that the project’s technical development is of consistent quality and deliverables communicate the design intent as cohesively and completely as possible.

TYPICAL TASKS

-Prepares and directs the preparation of design and construction documents as directed by Project Manager.
-Participates in engineering coordination meetings and design charrettes as determined by Project Manager.
-Provides support/input to Project Manager for budgeting and scheduling as needed.
-Prepares C.D. mock-ups with supervision of PA/PM.
-Develops design through architectural drawings and details.
-Ensures consistent level of quality throughout the project for all disciplines.
-Coordinates the work of consultants and in-house staff as directed by PA/PM.
-Checks and coordinates documents at each project milestone.
-Provides assistance to the Construction Administration team during construction.

 QUALIFICATIONS

-Experience: Three or more years of experience in all aspects of practice.
-Education: Bachelor of Architecture or equivalent.
-Registration: Not required, but pursuit of registration should be underway.
-Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of all areas of construction document preparation.
