PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
MHM is proud to announce a continued partnership with Ijams Nature Center to design an Event Pavilion alongside Ross/Fowler Landscape Architects. Nested within the homesite of Ijams Nature Center, the Pavilion and accessory structures are designed to respect the natural landscape and will reflect the values of sustainability and education Ijams was founded upon.

Rooted in a deep appreciation for nature, the open-air pavilion offers a uniquely permeable encounter with a landscape that is enriched by a beautiful history. Foliage-covered stone walls guide a procession through gardens and pre-functional spaces to an idyllic area for gathering, protected by the surrounding tree canopy. Solar panels, weathered steel rain chains, and gravel beds offer an eloquent approach towards educating individuals about sustainable building practices, specifically solar collection and rainwater harvesting.
