EMERGING PROFESSIONAL // ARCHITECTURE

FUNCTION

Responsible for development of the discrete aspects of project design and/or technical development as an independently contributing member of the project team.

 OBJECTIVES

-Contributes to the activities of the project team to achieve the high level of architectural quality consistent with the firm's objectives.
-Coordinates with the project team members and consultants to ensure quality design within time and budget constraints.
-Responsible for meeting internal schedules and budgets.
-Progress personal learning and work towards licensure, including taking ARE exams.

 TYPICAL TASKS

-Initiates and develops assigned aspects of the design.
-Ensures that design meets the client's programmed needs.
-Develops design and technical details.
-Prepares presentation materials.
-Coordinates design and technical work with other team members and consultants.
-Prepares plans, elevations, sections and details for the construction documents through BIM model and project drawing development.
-Researches materials, furniture, equipment and/or building systems.
-Performs other tasks as directed.
-May assist in production of marketing presentations
-Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally in verbal and written form
-May attend on-site visits, field reviews and client and/or project meetings as appropriate
-Assignments may include higher-level work for training/development purposes

 QUALIFICATIONS

-Experience: Zero to three years.
-Education: Bachelor of Architecture or equivalent.
-Registration: Not required. Should be working on AXP hours and ARE exams.
-Knowledge: Basic knowledge of programming, planning, design, building materials and construction methods as applied in practice. Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup and InDesign graphic software.
